Comunicato stampa: 2° Memorial Marcello Vaccai – Assisi 5 novembre 2017
2° Memorial Marcello Vaccai (calcio a 11 over 40) che organizziamo come A.S.D. Ultimi Calci Bastia Umbra domenica5 novembre, a partire dalle ore 9.30, allo stadio degli Ulivi di Assisi.
A questa seconda edizione parteciperà oltre a noi una squadra locale, l’Umbria Pride Team già presente al nostro 6° torneo nazionale di settembre a Bastia Umbra, e come lo scorso anno quella degli Amici di Marcello composta da suoi amici ed ex compagni di squadra.
In questa formazione giocherà suo figlio Massimo che sarà presente come il suo fratello Roberto.
Renderanno onore alla memoria di Marcello anche un gruppo di ciclisti capitanati dal suo amico Dott. Giuseppe Bagliani di Spello.
Al termine un momento conviviale con pasta al forno, panini con porchetta e dolci fatti in casa dalle colleghe di lavoro e dalle nostre mogli.
Marcello Vaccai, di S. Maria degli Angeli, classe 1957, dipendente dell’Ufficio Sport del Comune di Assisi, era uno dei portieri del Bastia Ultimi Calci e da diversi anni, con noi, partecipava spesso ai tornei in Italia o all’estero.
Marcello, il 14 luglio 2015, durante una passeggiata sull’Abetone, è incappato in un forte temporale dopo aver preso una scorciatoia è scivolato in un dirupo.
E’ stato ritrovato morto 10 giorni dopo, in una zona impervia e nascosta.
Un bravo portiere con trascorsi calcistici nell’ Angelana, Sansepolcro, Civitanovese, Cannara, Subasio, Ospedalicchio e poi, terminato con il calcio giocato, con grande passione ha allenato molte squadre giovanili della zona ma anche la prima squadra di formazioni come l’Angelana, la società del suo paese.
Non è mancata anche un’esperienza con la squadra femminile del Perugia.
Ovunque si è distinto non solo per la qualità delle sue prestazioni ma anche per la sua umanità oltre alla sua spontanea simpatia.
Per tutti noi è stato non solo un grande calciatore ed un grande uomo.
Bravo a creare spogliatoio e squadra o gruppo.
Per questo non lo dimentichiamo ed abbiamo ritenuto giusto ricordarlo con un Memorial.
